DESCRIPTION:What is the Van Gogh Gala?\nThe Van Gogh Gala is an annual f
 undraiser benefiting River Oaks Square Arts Center- it is also River Oak
 s' largest annual fundraiser.  The Gala provides the perfect opportunit
 y for community members and patrons to become "Star/Guest Artists" for a
 n evening.  Guest Artists are matched with a Mentor Artist - a River Oa
 ks Resident Artist or Local Artist from the community for the creation o
 f a masterpiece.  Some artists contribute their own works to the live a
 uction. All masterpieces are placed on the auction block during an excit
 ing live auction on the evening of the Gala with all proceeds benefiting
  the ongoing operations of River Oaks Square Arts Center.  Your partici
 pation helps support and promote the importance of contemporary visual a
 rt and fine crafts in our community through education\, outreach and spe
 cial features.\n\nWith the historic Bolton Home and grand Studio Annex B
 uilding\, River Oaks provides economical studio space for working artist
 s\, educational programming for youth and adults as well as host over tw
 enty exhibitions throughout the year featuring national\, regional\, loc
 al and resident artists.   With over thirty artists in residence\, eac
 h guest participant has the opportunity to work with a variety of styles
  and media.  The creative duo then begin their journey to creating an i
 nspiring masterpiece.  Van Gogh provides an excellent opportunity for c
 ommunity members to get involved in the arts while supporting a worthy c
 ause.
