Noises Off

City Park Players is thrilled to bring Noises Off, by Michael Frayn, to Hearn Stage this year. Directed by Jared Guillory, Noises Off opens September 14 and features:  Jill Dupont, Brayden Smith, Mark Weinzettle, Jacob Parker, Madeline Grant, Halli Watson, Steven Byone, Mia Huffman, and Nick Blackstone.

ABOUT THE PLAY: Noises Off takes a fond look at the follies of actors, whose susceptibility to out-of-control egos, memory loss, and passionate affairs turn every performance into a high-risk adventure. This play-within-a-play captures a touring theatre troupe’s production in three stages: dress rehearsal, the opening performance, and performance. Brimming with slapstick comedy, Noises Off is a delightful backstage farce, complete with slamming doors, falling trousers, and flying sardines!

If you have never experienced theater as an actor or a crew member, then perhaps Noises Off is simply an entertaining show with a lot of laughs. However, for those who “tread the boards,” Noises Off might very well be the funniest play ever written.

Noises Off performances continue September 14-24 – Thursdays-Saturdays at 7:30pm; Sundays at 2:30pm on Hearn Stage in Downtown Alexandria.  Tickets range from $5-15, and are on sale now at cpptheatre.com and will be available 30 minutes before each performance in the lobby of Kress Theatre.
