The Epps House is an 18th Century plantation home that was partially built by Solomon Northup. Northup was a free man who was taken into slavery for 12 years, and he authored the book, “Twelve Years a Slave,” which chronicles his story. The home was originally located on Bayou Boeuf; however, it was moved and restored on the LSUA campus and currently used as a historical home and place of study for American History studies.
