Hi, I’m Michelle Wilson—an artist, educator, and lifelong maker now creating in the Alexandria–Pineville community. After spending more than two decades pouring creativity into the classroom, I’m stepping forward in a new season of making art that’s deeply personal, rooted in meaning, and meant to connect people.
My work is shaped by faith, family, and the belief that beauty can be a form of hope. I’m inspired by stories—sacred moments, everyday tenderness, and the quiet strength found in people who keep going. As a breast cancer survivor and veteran, I understand resilience in a very real way, and that perspective naturally finds its way into my art through layers of symbolism, texture, and light.
I create in a variety of mediums, often blending traditional techniques with a modern sense of depth and dimension. Whether I’m working on a community piece or a personal canvas, I’m always chasing the same goal: to make something that feels honest—something that invites you to pause, reflect, and feel seen.
Being selected as an artist for Explore Alexandria & Pineville’s Community Heart Project is especially meaningful to me. I’m honored to contribute to an experience that celebrates local pride, encourages connection, and leaves a lasting mark on our shared spaces.
Thank you for supporting local artists and for welcoming my work into this community. I’m grateful to be here—and excited for what we’ll create together
