Explore Alexandria/Pineville, in partnership with River Oaks Square Arts Center, is thrilled to unveil a new Community Heart Project installation, a vibrant addition to Alexandria’s public art scene. Created by esteemed local artist Leah Morace, this heart sculpture will be revealed during a press conference at River Oaks Square Arts Center on February 6, 2025, at 6:00 PM, coinciding with the center’s AMGA 2025 Official Poster Reveal Press Conference.
The Community Heart Project is a public art initiative designed to celebrate love, unity, and creativity throughout the region. Featuring uniquely designed heart sculptures displayed across Alexandria and Pineville, the project brings together local artists to reflect the spirit and culture of central Louisiana. Leah Morace’s latest heart design is a striking representation of the area’s heritage and artistic traditions, further strengthening the connection between art and community.
River Oaks Square Arts Center, located in downtown Alexandria’s Cultural Arts District, has been a creative hub since 1984. With 25 studios, three galleries, an arts academy, and a full-scale ceramics studio, the center provides a dynamic platform for contemporary visual arts and fine crafts. The unveiling event at River Oaks serves as a perfect opportunity to celebrate this impactful public art project.

The center provides studio space for artists, galleries for exhibitions, and educational programs, all aimed at promoting and appreciating the visual arts within the community.
About Leah Morace:
Born and raised in Central Louisiana, Leah had an early passion for painting in her youth which initially stemmed from her creative grandmother. Louisiana is her first muse as she continues to depict motifs such as marsh birds, bayou waterscapes and coastal life in most of her paintings. Voted “Cenla’s Best Artist” 4 years in a row in 2017, 2018, 2019 and 2020, she has also been featured in episodes of Art Rocks on LPB and has painted numerous large-scale murals in and around the state, most currently working with Drew Brees for his family entertainment venues.
